After working as a broadcast communicator for more than 50 years, I still have a desire to communicate. Not, however, in the same way that I did for all of those years. I was a broadcast journalist, starting out in radio in 1948 and retiring as a television news anchor at WTVM-TV, Columbus, Georgia in 2000.
Richard Hyatt's Columbus
Columbus has been Richard Hyatt’s home and his beat for more than thirty-five years. Name an important milestone in the history of the city during those 422 months and he probably wrote about it in next morning’s newspaper. Richard retired from daily journalism in 2008, though his award-winning columns continue to appear in the Ledger-Enquirer. Now he turns to a new medium that will enable him to share his vast catalogue of local events and history.
